- I put a FASTCache/386SX plus 25Mz board with a coprocessor in a Zenith
- Model 286 which had a coprocessor. The vendor (Microway) said it was
- fully compatible. I just had to replace the 286 chip, install a board
- in an expansion board, join them with a supplied cable connector, run
- a silly set up program and VIOLA! 386 power on. Well there is a problem.
- The problem has me and the guys at MicroWay are buffled.
- I had 640 base RAM and 1 Meg extended and I put 4 Meg SIMMs in the
- FASTCache board. Problem is that the Monitor Program (set up) keep
- giving me erros. For example, if I set up expansion memory with
- 5120 Kb (what it should be) it yells me that there are more than
- 7000! Next time I reboot gives me a different error. The switches
- are OK, we put new Zenith Monitor and Keyboard ROM BIOS, according to
- Microway everything should be OK. And it is sometimes, but some applications
- "hang up" and when I reboot I get erros again.
- Does someone have any experience with this? Is there any jumper or
- switch that I should change and the guys at Microway forgot or don't
- know? Remember, it's a 25Mz board and a Z-286, not a Z-248.
