- I own a Leading Technology PC Partner 386sx/16 which is a real shame.
- According to the local hardware hacks, I can't upgrade the motherboard
- alone because the keyboard plug is in strange place (among other reasons
- they wouldn't go in to.)
-
- The Leading Technology representative said as much, although in
- a much more bored voice. He said the only option I have unless I want
- to alter the case and such myself was to get a bare-bones system with
- the chip I want and move my hard drive, sound card, scanner and graphics
- board over to the new case.
-
- If anyone has dealt with the Leading Tech. and can offer advice
- contrary to that, I'll be glad to hear it. Otherwise, I'd love some
- advice on who to go to for an affordable bare-bones 386 system. I don't
- want to spend the bucks on a 486. I just need a little more performance
- than what I'm getting with an otherwise fine machine and components.
-
- Thank you very much for any help. If anyone is in a similar
- spot, I'll be glad to relay what I learn as I learn it.
