  14.    SECOND - THESE NUMBERS ARE FOR A CIS 486/50E (CUSTOMIZED INTEGRATED
  15. SYSTEM) ASSEMBLED BY TEXGRAPHICS, INC. (207) 827-4873, OLD TOWN, ME.
  16. THE SYSTEM CONSISTS OF A CLONE (MCT) OF THE AMI ENTERPRISE II EISA
  17. BOARD (REVIEWED IN "BUILDING THE PERFECT PC", PC MAGAZINE), AN AMI
  18. FAST DISK II EISA SCSI-II (COMMAND & WIRING, NOT FAST SCSI) CACHING
  19. SCSI CONTROLLER, an Orchid Prodesigner IISE EISA ET-4000 based SVGA
  20. accellerator and a Microscience (forgot P/N) 660MB SCSI-II hard drive.
  21. The cache on the controller = 1MB, 256K fast (15nS) cache on the
  22. Motherboard and 8 MB of 60 nS RAM.

  24.    System also includes MS bus mouse, ser/par IO card, NEC 3FGx monitor
  25. and 101 key enhanced keyboard, 1.44 & 1.2 MB Teac floppies and 230W
  26. supply in a full TOWER (F*** any trademarks on this) case.

  28.    Norton SI crashed on the Disk Speed tests but returned 103.8 for
  29. the CPU benchmark (v. 5.0).
  30.  
  31.    Checkit 1.0 returned .3 mS ave and track-track seek times but seems
  32. to have a problem measuring Xfer rate (303 K/s on 1MB block?).  CPU
  33. numbers were 23,808 Dhrystones, 24,388 Char/sec. and 8156 Whetstones.

  35.    Matlab 3.5A provides a rather flattering assessment and ought to
  36. lay the SUN/2 question to rest, if true:
