- My MAXTOR 120M RLL disk just crapped out. Low-level format (should I be
- embarrassed that I can still do that?) went through 1021 cyllinders then
- said 'cannot write to reserved sectors'.
-
- Ok, I know that I could risk using an MFM with my RLL controller, but
- do I have any other options? Low-cost options, that is. I just looked
- up some month-old prices for I forget who, and an IDE w/controller
- with 120M capacity was somewhere @US$450. Gag!
-
- Can I resurrect my RLL? is there any way to get it to use some different
- sectors as its reserved sectors?
