  12. although my last question about this controller didn't get any useful
  13. answers. I will try it again.
  14. I received an offer for an EISA system with the Bustek 742 controller.
  15. This is fine. However, it is possible, that the system that will run
  16. on this system won't support EISA harddisk controllers in the current release
  17. but will be in one of the next's, I guess. So, my question is this:
  18.     Is the Bustek-742 compatible with the Adaptec-1542 or can I configure
  19.     it this way ?
  20.     The DMA-speed shouldn't matter to the device-driver, right ?
  21.     Or should I insist on the Adaptec-1742 controller which starts
  22.     in Adaptec-1542 mode, instead ?
