- I currently have a Gateway 2000 486-33 with a 202 Mb Conner drive (IDE).
- I wish to buy a second drive, probably a Fujitsu 500M. My main question is,
- should I go IDE or SCSI? I think the SCSI interface may come in handy if
- later on I decide to get a CD ROM (although I don't see this happening
- anytime in the near future). On the other hand, I am somewhat concerned
- about potential problems having two different types of disk drives in my
- system. Finally, I will be using both disk drives for MSDOS and 386BSD
- operating systems; I think some 386BSD software might have some special
- uses for a SCSI interface.
-
- Would anyone care to comment on the pros and cons of IDE and SCSI, in light
- of the above? Would having a SCSI interface likely be useful for other things
- in the future?? (I realize this borders on a FAQ, so hopefully my questions
- aren't out of place!)
-
- Thanks.
