- there's a newsgroup dedicated to discussing sound cards...don't remember off hand though. however,
- my 0.02 worth:

- i have not had any problems with the soundblaster card. the hang-ups and such occur when
- the motherboard has interrupt conflicts with the sound card. that seems to occur only
- with some 486 motherboards, however, since i don't follow this group too closely, i may
- have missed out on the posts where this may have arisen with the other motherboards.

- anyway, soundblaster is a "standard" of sorts and it hasn't presented me with any problems.
- installation is easy *unless* you have a lot of cards in your computer already which may
- necessitate changing the sound cards interrupts/addresses via dip switches. and yes,
- external speakers will be necessar...or better yet, just pipe it into your stereo :-)
