  32. there's a newsgroup dedicated to discussing sound cards...don't remember off hand though.  however,
  33. my 0.02 worth:

  35.     i have not had any problems with the soundblaster card.  the hang-ups and such occur when
  36.     the motherboard has interrupt conflicts with the sound card.  that seems to occur only
  37.     with some 486 motherboards, however, since i don't follow this group too closely, i may
  38.     have missed out on the posts where this may have arisen with the other motherboards.

  40.     anyway, soundblaster is a "standard"  of sorts and it hasn't presented me with any problems.
  41.     installation is easy *unless* you have a lot of cards in your computer already which may
  42.     necessitate changing the sound cards interrupts/addresses via dip switches.  and yes,
  43.     external speakers will be necessar...or better yet, just pipe it into your stereo  :-)
