- One of the executives in Dofasco's Engineering department is using an
- AST 386SX Exec. laptop computer with a DEC LK250 external keyboard.
- Every time he connects to his local LAN with his Xircom external ethernet
- adapter, the external keyboard starts acting funny. He will press 'C',
- for instance, and the computer will act as if he's pressed 'F'. The odd
- thing is that if he presses 'C' again, the computer will behave properly.
-
- All of his hardware seems to be behaving as designed. I swapped in another
- AST 386SX Exec. and reproduced the problem. I swapped in another DEC LK250
- external keyboard and reproduced the problem. Without the external keyboard
- attached, everything works fine, so I don't think there's a problem with his
- Xircom box either.
-
- Can anyone suggest a cause and/or a fix for this problem?
