- Well, I guess there had to be one out there. I agree with the other 3
- three posters ... the disks are unreliable.
-
- We tried them on a variety of machines, one AT&T 386SX would format them
- consistantly, all other PCs would barf during the format. Unfortunately,
- I used this PC to diskcopy some disks, took them home and tried to install
- the fonts on them in my PC -- tons of read errors. I took the disks back
- to work and did a diskcomp on them on the same AT&T PC and they failed.
- BTW, that is the last time I ever did a diskcopy without doing a diskcomp
- afterwards. Of course, this was done on old disks that were used once,
- NOT brand new disks that were unformatted. I did use a bulk disk
- demagnetizer them though.
-
- I am now the proud owner of a $20 "Disk Doubler" hole punch that only
- takes up room in my storage locker. The disk demagnetizer I use from time
- to time.
-
- I did give the disks to a friend of mine with an Apple IIGS and he has been
- using them at Low Density for over a year. Once the hole is there, my IBM
- clone won't read/write them as 720K anymore. :^(
-
- Hope it helps (tm).
