- I have a Miniscribe 3425 (20 Meg MFM) HD which tends to work fine for a
- few hours after power-up and then goes into some sort of error mode.
- It makes a funny whine, sort of like a quick spin-up or something,
- and starts flashing the same error code on its LED. According to
- the error codes posted here last week, the problem is "Index pulse
- not detected or lost."
-
- My question is, where is the index pulse? I thought it might be on
- one of the controller cables, but I've tightened up the cable contacts
- with no results. Is it somewhere inside the drive?
-
- Also does anybody know what the settings on the DIP switch at the back
- of the drive mean? I don't have a manual for the drive.
-
- Thanks,
-
