  17.    I have a PC XT: ATARI PC3 with a hard disk of 40 Mega and a 3'1/2 floppy.
  18.    When I switch on the PC, the following message is displayed:

  20.      error 601
  21.      press F1 to resume.
  22.      
  23.    When I press F1 the PC boot on the hard disk, and display the prompt.

  25.    The problem is that the floppy is unusable. I canot read disk on this
  26.    drive. If I try to reboot the PC with a dos disk in the floppy,
  27.    It displays the following: Insert a disk in drive A and strike a key.
  28.    I strike a key and the same message is displayed,....
  29.    
  30.    I tested the drive on an other PC, and it worked fine, so I suppose
  31.    it is the floppy disk controler of the ATARI wich has a problem. But
  32.    I canot replace this controler, because it is integrated on the 
  33.    motherboard.
  34.    
  35.    Is it possible to disable the ATARI controler to put an other one
  36.    in one free slot?
  37.    Is it a problem of configuration?
  38.    Is it possible to replace the ATARI controler, by replacing a set of 
  39.    IC?
  40.    ....
