- Hello. I have a VESA compatible video card.
-
- It is a Diamond Flower. It has 1 meg on it.
-
- Anyways, it can do all the normal and VESA frequencies.
-
- My monitor is a ViewSonic 4.
-
- It is a multisync monitor capable of doing 800X600 with a
- vertical scan rate of 56Hz and horizontal scan of 35kHz.
-
- It can also do 1024X768 interlaced.
- vertical scan = 87Hz, horizontal scan = 35kHz
-
- Here's the problem;
- If I try to display anything at 800X600, the screen gets
- out of sync. The picture doesn't disappear, the screen just
- gets out of sync.
- I can view VGA and 1024X768 images just fine, in fact, I can
- switch from a VGA to 800X600 to 1024X768 image just fine, except
- that when I try to display the 800X600 image the screen goes out
- of sync. It gets back in sync as soon as I display something in
- VGA or 1024X768.
-
- I don't think it is the monitor because just a week ago it would
- display all resolutions fine using a STB Powergraph. The STB
- Powergraph is not a VESA compatible card.
-
- I think that the video card is sending a 72hz signal at 800X600
- instead of a 60hz one. Is this the problem? Does anyone know
- how I can fix this problem? Thanks.
