- You are simply forgetting to install the new system :)

- Boot from your DOS-5 floppy, then write SYS C: and copy the command.com
- to the C:-root, rename the autoexec.bat and config.sys to something
- else, and boot again from C: this time.

- harddisk (they are hidden files)
