- It's not been done, but it should be easy for somebody who understands
- RS232 to make the HP48 talk to one of the RS232 bar code readers
- available from any of the following folks:
-
- American Microsystems
- 2190 A Regal Pkwy
- Euless, TX 76040
- (817) 571-9015
-
- Computerwise, Inc.
- 302 N. Winchester Lane
- Olathe, KS 66062
- (800) 255-3739
- (913) 829-0600
- Fax: (913) 829-0810
-
- Worthington Data Solutions <-- RS232 mentioned in ad
- 417-A Ingalls St.
- Santa Cruz, CA 95060
- (800) 345-4220
- (408) 458-9938
-
- These were gleaned from the back pages of InfoWorld's latest issue.
- I have never dealt with any of these companies and cannot vouch for
- their products.
-
- This sounds like a fun project. Unfortunately, the price of the
- barcode reader and required printer, added to the time and hassle of
- printing and then reading the barcode, might make Sparcom's Drive95 a
- more reasonable solution for storing/reading/distributing 48 goodies.
