- Along these same lines, I get annoyed at having to wait that second or
- so while the `48 turns on, initializing or connecting lib.s, or
- whatever it's doing. When I'm using the `48 as a simple calculator
- (heaven forbid!) I want to hit the ON key and immediately be able to
- start typing numbers. So...
-
- How 'bout a STANDBY program that would reduce power usage by turning
- off the LCD and then go into a low power wait-for-key-press mode. When
- a key is pressed (any key) the `48 re-vivifies itself WITHOUT a cold
- start. (Extra neato would be to then to perform the function of the
- pressed key.)
-
- Would this improve the uptake of the `48 and avoid lost key strokes
- on power up? Anyone tried?
