  15. The individual serial number is in only one place: stamped permanently
  16. into the back shell.  It's of the form YYWWCNNNNN, where YY is the year
  17. of manufacture (minus 1960); WW is the week number within that year; C is
  18. the country code; and NNNNN is the number of the unit made that week.

  20. The serial number is NOT anywhere in ROM (only the ROM version is).
