- You cannot mix ESDI and IDE drives because the PC standard allows for
- only one disk controller per PC. For all practical purposes, you can
- only use HP ESDI drives. The best way to add more disk drives is to
- add a SCSI card. SCSI is a bus controller and not a disk controller so
- it can co-exist with the ESDI controller. Network Server Division
- sells a SCSI controller with their external storage system. With the
- 300MB ESDI drive, you probably do not have any more room for an internal
- disk so the NSD box is the only way to go. NSD sells a 1GB disk for
- their box. This add on allows you to keep your existing setup within
- minimal changes. Potentially you can have 7GB of disk storage on
- your RS/20 with this setup.
