- Howdy-
-
- Came across a situation today where I need to do an "on -i" command to a 700
- machine running 8.07. It hangs, of course. Yeah, this is a known 8.07 bug,
- but the official fix is not to be made until 9.0 -grrrr. Anybody know if
- there's an 'unofficial' patch available _now_?
-
- Or maybe there's another solution: What I really want to do is to run rdump
- on a bunch of remote machines from my workstation. I need to be able to
- interact with the remote rdumps to change tapes, etc. All this happens inside
- a shell script, so contacting the remote systems via rlogin or telnet is no
- good. Remsh or plain "on" don't work because they don't allow me to interact
- with the remote rdump (it bitches about not being able to open /dev/tty and
- exits). "on -i" works _very_ well for 300's, but hangs on the 700's. It there
- another way to contact a remote machine to execute a command _and_ maintain
- terminal control that I've forgotten?
-
- Thanks!
