  32. I had the problem with the parallel port on an 710, too. At least our
  33. Kyocera laser printer seems reacts not on the falling but on the
  34. rising edge of "strobe_not". I "fixed"^1 this problem with a 74ACT00
  35. in a dongle box (all together <3$), which inverts the strobe line
  36. and hence makes a rising edge from falling one. The IC is supplied
  37. by the printers "select" line which is high during normal printer
  38. operation.

  40. It works for me for some weeks now without problems, even though I
  41. would strongly encourage HP to make the parallel port like the
  42. PC one's, at least I want to have a switch to decide on my own.

  46. little bit about electronics and 2. I am working in a university,
  47. what gives me time to solder my own solutions, because I am payed
  48. anyway, so my time isn't worth any money compared to a $20 
  49. commercial solution. :-)
