  14. What does it mean when these messages start appearing in
  15. /usr/adm/messages ? :

  17. bus 1, ASC 4, ASC Q 0, sense key 2, ASL 14,
  18.   sense key specific bytes: 0 0 0
  19. SCSI: soft->hard error; lun 0, target 0, bus 1
  20. SCSI: sense key, lun 0, target 0, bus 1: Not Ready
  21. SCSI: sense key, lun 0, target 0, bus 1: Drive Not Ready
  22.  
  23. I can no longer communicate at all with the Differential
  24. SCSI drive that this message is talking about, although another
  25. drive in the same box is working fine.  Power supplies appeared
  26. to be ok.  HP 'Response' did not give me much of one.

  28. Using mount gives:
  29.    mount: /dev/dsk/c41d0s0 No such device or address
  30. Using fsck gives:
  31.    could not read superblock of /dev/dsk/c41d0s0: I/O error
  32. Using dd gives:
  33.   dd: cannot open /dev/dsk/c41d0s0
  34.  
  35. The drive configuration (special file, SCSI address in back)
  36. was not changed in any way, and was working before.
