  13. A client of mine has a bizarre problem with his HP 817 and 700/RX X terminals.
  14. HP support hasn't come up with a solution.

  16. THE ENVIROMENT:
  17.     One 817 running HP-UX 8.0 as server
  18.     700/92 as system console.
  19.     Two 700/RX Xterminals
  20.     Thin coax.
  21.     Fonts loaded from server.
  22.  
  23. THE SYMPTOMS: 
  24.     After logging in under X, with xdm or Vuelogin, more does not
  25.     function properly. The first page appears correctly but no
  26.     additional pages can be seen.

  28.     If one telnets to the system from the X terminals instead of using  
  29.     X,  you get the normal login: prompt,  it accepts a name normally,
  30.     displays the Password: prompt, your password APPEARS AS YOU TYPE IT,
  31.     then the terminal hangs until you type ^c, and you're back at the 
  32.     login: prompt.
