  14. hi, i'm trying to write a tar archive to a 4mm DAT tape on
  15. an HP 720 (hpux 8.05) and then read it on an SGI 440s (irix
  16. 4.0.1) and it sez: checksum error, giving up...
  17.  
  18. i just used plain old tar cvf to create it on the HP and then
  19. checked it with tar tvf and all was fine then came over to 
  20. the SGI and it won't read it (even dd won't read anything off
  21. of it)  - any ideas?
