- Hi there,
- we use several HP 9000/400t computers (uname: HP-UX ikb-5 7.03 A 9000/375 ikb-5).
- Actually, we try to update HP-UX to version 8.0. We have a SCSI-CD-ROM-drive
- which is not originally HP. It has a SONY-chassis. The 400 has two built-in
- 200 MB Rodime SCSI-disks with the SCSI-addresses 6 and 5. The SCSI-Bus has
- the address 7.
-
- When the computer is turned on, it is possible to choose the HP-UX-Kernel from
- the install-CD-ROM. It seems to be loaded (takes ten seconds), but then appears
- an error message:
-
- . . .
- panic: rootmount cannot mount root
- no dump device - can't save corefile
- . . .
-
- I have tested several SCSI-Addresses for the CD-ROM-drive, but the result
- was always the same.
-
- Has anybody an idea, what I have to do in this case?
