- Hi,
- I've got one 705 at home and another one at work. I'd like to
- run PPL between them so I can get my home machine on the network.
- However, my dialin isn't directly to a serial port on the 705 at
- work---instead, I dial into a modem bank (a Cisco TIP) on an Ethernet,
- and then use telnet or rlogin protocols to log into my machine. I
- believe it is possible to program the terminal bank to pass all
- characters, so I don't have to worry about it eating control chars,
- etc.
-
- Is it possible to run PPL under such a configuration? From
- the documentation, it appears that you can log in to a host and then
- start PPL, but it also looks like the login must be through an
- honest-to-goodness serial port on the host. Is there any way to fake
- it out so it'll be happy with the pty I get when I rlogin from the
- net?
-
- Any advice would be appreciated.
