  10. We have a machine here whose uname returns
  11.     HP-UX wombaj B.08.00 A 9000/42T 080009217b61
  12.  
  13. By default it installed with 14 char file name limits.  It tells us we
  14. can easily convert to long file names afterwards.  Then the sys admin tool 
  15. warns us that this may break some programs!
  16.  
  17. What may break?  I thought it may be some old programs that don't use the
  18. opendir() library routines but that try to read the directory directly.
  19.  
  20. Is there any other thing that might go wrong?
  21.  
  22. Would any of the HP software break?  Surely not.
