- Ya know how the left side of the 95's screen is kinda loose.... Yeah, we
- have all heard how HP decided for cost reasons to use only 1 clutch
- on the right side.... I never liked the way it jiggles and I really
- don't like the way the screen doesnt stay put....it falls back....
- So I've been trying to do something about it......
- The following IS NOT ENDORSED BY HP!!!!!!
- If you open the 95 and grab the left side cap on the hinge and carefully
- jiggle and pull, you can remove it to find the left end of the screen's
- hinge. There is a slit in the center, rolling part of the hinge....
- The cap cfollows this part of the hing while the cap rubs against
- the body of the 95..... So it follows that if one can add traction
- to the edge of the cap it will add stability to the left end of the
- hinge..... I tried lots of things, but the following works perfectly
- and seems to have the least impact on the 95.....
- Get a rubber band and stretch it thin then squeeze the middle of the
- rubber band into the slit... Use to strands of the bubber band....
- Then release it so that the rubber band expands. It will fit
- diagnolly into the slit with one end sticking out the end,,the other out
- the side forward of the 95. Use a razor to trim the rubber band so
- than only a tiny portion of the two strands stick out of the slit....
- Put the cap back on. The rubber band expands the rotating part of the
- hinge thereby minimizing the jiggles. The rubber band should also stick
- out the hing in between the cap and the 95's body to provide traction to
- keep the screen at any angle...... Yeah, the rubber band will eventually
- wear out and yeah it can fall into the hinge.....so what.... it won't
- hurt the 95 and it works!!!
