  14. I looked for a FAQ posting but haven't seen one for about 10 days, so I'll be
  15. bold and post a couple of NEW USER questions....

  17. Actually, I'm not yet even a user, but here goes ;-)

  19. I would _LOVE_ to have a little computer to carry around with me wherever I go!  
  20. From the sound of previous posts, it looks like HP offers a few models to choose
  21. from.  I am a UNIX tech support guy at work, and at times I have the need to dial
  22. in to the systems at work.  I also run a PC BBS at home, and would like to be able
  23. to dial-in to "check things out" now and then.

  25. My question is:  Is it worth my while to consider a palmtop/handlheld computer, or
  26.          do I want to look for a laptop class machine?  I am not too 
  27.          concerned with disk storage or blazing fast performance -- just
  28.          the ability to dial in from wherever I may be!  !!PORTABILITY!!

  30. Just what can these little computers handle?  Will I be super-annoyed at their slow-
  31. ness, or limited functionality?  Again, I like the idea of super-compactness, and
  32. the ability to use a modem to connect to a remote host!  What kind of price
  33. should I look at for a setup that will be good for dial-in operations (2400bps data,
  34. no FAX)?
