- We are considering the purchase of either a MicroVax 3100/90 or
- a VAX 4000/100. They are both rated at 24VUP and have a max memory of
- 128 MB, the major difference that I can see is the addition of one
- DSSI to the VAX 4000/100. The problem we have with the 3100/90 is that
- I cannot hang enough disk on it for our needs, along with the tape and
- cd-rom we also need.
-
- The 4000/100 claims to be able to address 28Gb
- of disk storage, with the rf73's (2Gb drive) that would only give you
- 14Gb. It has a SCSI for internal tape and cd-rom, so my question is
- how do we get the extra disk on the unit?? Is the SCSI available
- outside the box? Do I need to get the optional q-bus? One article I
- read indicated that the max disk was based on having a KFQSA in
- addition, what does all this mean???
-
- Thanks in advance to anyone who might have an answer to these few
- questions as so far I have not been able to get an answer from my
- local sales force..
