- Find your ESSENTIAL UTILITIES diskettes!! Insert diskette #1.
- After SELF_CHECK, hit the reset switch on the back of the 3B2.
- After getting the "SYSTEM FAILURE, etc." message, type the
- firmware password (mcp by default). You will now be in FIRMWARE MODE.
- When you are asked which program to run, type filledt. Enter
- 0 for the device code. If this is working, the message will be
- "BEGIN FILLING EDT". You may get some spurious error messages
- about unknown device codes. These may be ignored. Finally,
- when filledt finishes, your program to run is unix, for the device
- code, use 1 (should be the hard disk). Your system should then
- come up all the way. The red DIAGNOSITC light will be on,
- don't worry about it. Once your system is up, recover /filledt
- from your last backup of the root filesystem.
