- The 14.4K bps modems really talk to your cpu at 19200 bps. Through the
- magic of data compression (v.32/42), mnp, and all that, the real
- throughput of the modem is someplace between 14.4k bps and 19.2k bps.
- There's buffers and flow control stuff built into the modem. Just
- about any terminal program will work at 19.2k bps.

- However, the more important question than which terminal program
- is the problem of flow control. The flow control in most, if not
- all, versions of TOS is broken, and you'll have problems with
- receiving data fast unless you use one of the patches like
- serialfx to correct the problem.
