- I wanted to thank all those who have responded to my question
- about being able to use a regular (not-specifically-fax) modem
- as a modem via some special software. 100% of the responses
- have said "NO" in some form or another.
- The only reason I asked the question in the first place was
- that a friend of mine (who is not necessarilly all that
- computer-literate) believes he read an article about some new
- software in the msdos world that in fact does let one use a
- regular modem to send faxes. Oh well, either he's wrong, or
- it just isn't available for other platforms yet....OR, there's
- something slightly more going on.
