- Hi!
-
- some people were interested in the project "Eprom Disk" the german
- magazine C'T published some time ago.
-
- I looked it up and found a lot of paper :-), so I don't post any of the
- articles, but I think if someone has further interests in this subject, he
- (she) should post this and tell the rest of the people who want to know
- about it, that he (she) is willing to email 'ct@ix.de' to ask for the
- possibilities to get the articles mentioned further on and the software
- accompanied. Here, I must tell you, that the main part of the software,
- mainly the driver program for the 512kB (1MB) eprom disk wasn't published
- in the magazine, due to the length of the source text. These programs are
- only available on disk, or perhaps via ftp from:
-
- o ftp.uni-paderborn.de
- o ftp.uni-regensburg.de
- o ftp.uni-duesseldorf.de (after 1800 [0600pm] local time)
-
- if one of these servers archives the files, for they are rather old :-)
-
- Ok, here are the results of my research:
-
- c't issue | contents
- -----------|-------------------------------------------------------------
- 1/86 | 128 kByte Eprom-Bank. This only shows how to connect the
- | 128kByte available at the Rom Port.
- 9/86 |
- 12/86 | These two issues describe some software to deal with the
- | 128kByte Eprom described in 1/86. 12/86 describes a block
- | device driver to use the eproms as a 128kByte SSD(*)
- 7/87 | a universal interface, to connect IBM-PC-bus cards and
- | ECB-BUS cards to the Rom Port. This interface provides the
- | possibility to install 512kByte eprom at the Rom Port. A
- | piggy pack offers another 512kByte.
- 9/87 | a bus driver card for the Rom Port, built with SMD chips
- 10/87 | Software to deal with the 512k (1M) eprom space, as described
- | in 7/87. Included is a description of the block device driver
- | to use the eprom bank as a SSD. The source code itself is not
- | printed.
- (*) SSD = Solid State Disk
-
- hope this helps,
- if someone needs some more infos, feel free to write mail :-)
