  12. One netter asked why a MegaSTE should be considered over a 1040STE.

  14. First: Cost. If you price out a 1040STE plus a monitor and external 50meg
  15. hard disk, it is more expensive than buying a MegaSTE with monitor and
  16. internal 50meg HD. I sell Atari equipment and advise the purchase of a
  17. 1040STE only if it is to replace a 1040STf or 520 and the owner already
  18. has a monitor and HD. Examples prices are

  27. Why buy a 1040STE???

  29. Second: SLM605 compatibility. I tried five 1040STEs with two SLM605s and
  30. every combination produced ragged output (pixel displacements). I contacted
  31. Atari Canada and asked to have an advisory posted but I have seen nothing
  32. yet (that was 3 - 4 months ago).

  34. Up above where I wrote 42 meg STealth, that should have been a 52 meg HD.
