- It's my understanding a lot of the software developed by Atari was done
- on mainframes (DEC PDP-11's?) using terminals. I've heard Wilkinson did
- DOS XE on his trusty 1200XL & I imagine a lot of stuff developed after
- the creation of tools like the Assembler/Editor cartridge was done on the
- 8-bit. Heck, I even have cross assembler for my clone. it'll do everything
- from RCA 1802 to Rockwell 65C02. I don't use it, but I can understand why
- other people would. Boot up your favorite WP to edit your code with 80
- column full screen scrolling then pop into the command line to generate
- the .OBJ file. If you have a local library that has either Dr. Dobb's
- Journal or Steve Cicara <sp?> Circuit Cellar, check them out. They both
- have cross development packages advertised that'll give you an idea of
- what's available for different target processors.
