- Well I have Thorn EMI's Computer War cartridge (THA12010) which
- definitely seems based on the movie War Games and I am wondering if
- these are the same game. Did Thorn EMI release it as "War Games" and
- get into trademark/copyright troubles and change the name?
-
- I haven't played "Computer War" in years put as I remember you are
- shown a map of the US showing missle tracks coming in, you selected one
- of the missles and were put in a gun turrent with a somewhat 3-D view
- where you could turn the turrent left-right and move the gun up and
- down to try and shoot down the missle zipping across the screen. Each
- missle you failed to shoot down raised failed to shoot down raised your
- DEFCON level by one and if it reached DEFCON 5 thermo-nuclear war borke
- out and you lost. There may have been some kind of "bonus" round but I
- don't remember for sure. Anyway does this sound like the same game as
- "War Games"? --Kent
