- Actually there is a very good reason to upgrade a 1050 drive - speed.

- Aside from better organized storage with SpartaDOS (subdirectories, etc.)
- the single best thing about this DOS is drive speed. Once you get used to
- read and writes occuring in 1/3 of the time (including boots) you'll never
- want to wait while a stock 1050 grinds it out again.

- AND if you go all the way to SpartaDOS X on a XL/XE with more than 128K you
- will find the most memory available of any DOS. This is really nice for
- applications that dynamically use RAM for a buffer like TextPro.

- Also, in terms of just buying more disks - some of the graphics packages
- limit you to the number of images that fit on one disk (like Print Power),
- therfore the more disk space available, the more images you can work with.
