- I have an older version 1.3 (Professional) which seems to work with MIDI
- output to my keyboard, but the input to the GS never worked (i.e. Playing
- scores on my MIDI keyboard to be converted into musical notation on screen).
- The sound quality MusicWriter produces through the Ensoniq chip is simply
- awful, sounding like music produced on a Macintosh Plus (or worse)!

- "Music Modifier" can convert pc/mac/amiga/atari/etc MIDI file into either
- Diversi-Tune or synthLAB sequences. It also does conversion of SL->DT or
- visa-versa. The version I have is exteremly slow, runs under GS/OS although
- uses a poorly designed ASCII text display, and rarely does successful
- conversions. If a newer version exists I'd like to know. I've also heard
- of something called "MidiMate", but have never seen it. Most SL sequences
- have been converted from DT, Music Studio, and MIDI files, so there's some
- program out there capable of doing proper conversions!
-
- At the moment synthLAB is my favorite of music programs! The tone quality
- of instruments is incredible! (especially the Orchestra wavebank, and no
- longer supported "INSTF.BNK" with pipeorgan, tubularbells, harpischord, etc)!
