  11. I'm very disappointed that SoundSmith 1.0 was killed -- I was waiting for
  12. 1.0 to come out so I could buy it.  I have some of the shareware prerelease
  13. versions, but was waiting for the final version before buying it, since there
  14. were some problems with the early versions of it.

  16. Piracy sucks.  That's easy enough.  Piracy sucks because, regardless of
  17. what your econo-poliitical views are, we live in a nearly totally capitalist
  18. society.  Jawaid's right: it ain't always pretty, andd it definitely doesn't
  19. always make sense, and it's often unfair, buut so far it's the best economic
  20. structure the human race has come up with, and we have to deal with it.
  21. That means paying for products that aren't free -- in other words, just about
  22. everything.

  24. A lot of people release their software as "public domain", "freeware", or
  25. "shareware".  Thus far, the majority of my work has been in these categories.
  26. Thhose who enjoy copying programs -- go for it!  This stuff is _meant_ to be
  27. passed around.

  29. On the other hand, those who enjoy _piracy_ can go soak their heads in
  30. a public toilet... which they've been doing all along.
