- I just wanted to let everyone know that the Sanyo 65816's work..and they're
- nice to boot! Anyways, using a circa-1989 TWGS upgraded to 32k cache w/ 35ns
- Ram chips, I simply plugged in a Sanyo '816 chip and a 55Mhz crystal giving
- my GS an effective clock rate of about 13.75 MHz...man, is it cool!! I've had
- no problems with it, but it should have been impossible, as the gate arrays
- on the TWGS are rated at 12.5 MHz....so much for specs. But then, I don't
- think anyone else was able to get reliable operation past 12 MHz....maybe
- I'm just plain lucky (which is what they all called me at KFest!) Now to
- upgrade to 25ns cache Ram and see if 15Mhz will work!
