- Belgo's List of Kansasfest Goodies:
-
- Products:
- First off, Animasia 3-D by Mike Lutynski. Stayed up
- all night with Mike trying to make a 3-D animation. Prob
- is, on an 11-MHz GS, it still took about 3 hours to render
- 7 seconds of video..
- GNO! At the expo, there was Jawaid in his lovely
- T-Shirt, there was Drechsau (not Frankowski!), and GNO
- running on a GS and a slave Xerox terminal.
- Most impressive...
- TimeLord by Chris M. (can't spell his last name) was
- on display at the DreamWorld booth, stayed and chatted with
- Steve and Jason for awhile..
- Out of This World (with sound and SNES version), kix
- butt, with 2 secret codes.
-
- Events:
- DYA getting stuck in the elevator, Roger Wagner
- getting roasted (and a new nickname for Diz "Dishbrow"),
- discovering the tunnel system in the basement that connects
- the dorms (fun, fun), playing Puzznic with JoshB, hanging
- out in BurgerBill's crowded dorm (how d'ya dodge the
- crowds, Bill?), Furiously writing down the tech specs of
- the Avatar as Bill recited them, and not getting any sleep.
-
- Tim Swihart (of Apple Computer) talking ominously
- about the future of the //, really got me depressed. Matt
- Deatherage sang for us (!) (By the way Matt, forget about
- shaving my head, allright?), and I llllllike Smash TV...
-
- People:
- Me, Dagen Brock, Jay Jennings and Bryan Pietrzak from
- Softdisk, Nate Trost, the Jupiter Systems folks, Imperial
- Programming (nifty demo, guys), The Enforcer and Hangtime
- (now why do you folks always stick out in my mind?), John
- Carmack, Bob Shofstall (look for Impasse //gs under the
- Nite Owl label), Chris Thamm, the Sydney, Australia people
- (thanks for the card), and the dozens of other unique
- people who stayed in the dorms...
-
- Bad News:
- The new Ethernet card won't do TCP/IP, you still need
- a SuperDrive card for AE's FDHD drive, and 6.0 is the last
- major software release (although minor releases, like 6.0.2
- will be done).
