  18. There aren't any mind-boggling new features, but quite a lot of small
  19. improvements.  Here's a quick summary:
  20.  
  21. - Bug fixes, in particular all known bugs that caused crashes.
  22. - Better handling of low memory situations, and somewhat better use of
  23.   memory in general.
  24. - Speed improvements in HyperTalk and unpacking pictures (plus others).
  25. - The application is smaller on disk (but still needs 1.5 MB of RAM).
  26.  
  27. - External commands/functions can create their own "windoids" (like the
  28.   Message Box, Tool Window, etc.).  These are referred to as "XWindows".
  29.  
  30. - The "Compact Stack" command can optionally free up unused space in the
  31.   stack's resource fork.
  32. - Buttons and fields can have background colours.
  33. - There is a new "Tune Builder" stack.
  34.  
  35. The following features require System 6:
  36. - Sounds from the */System/Sounds folder can be played from HyperTalk.
  37. - Disk insertions are recognised, and blank disks can be formatted.
  38. - There is a new "Media Control" stack.
  39.  
  40. New scripting features:
  41. - ItemDelimiter: allows lists to be separated by characters other than
  42.   comma (e.g. colon, which makes it very easy to split up pathnames).
  43. - The "ask" command distinguishes between the user clicking "Cancel"
  44.   and clicking "OK" with an empty string.
  45. - BackColor property (for fields and buttons).
  46. - New constants: Comma and Colon.
  47. - ClickLine and ClickChunk - make it easy to locate a mouse click in a
  48.   field, useful for "hypertext" applications.
  49. - Lots of changes to support XWindows.
