  19. Mtools is a public domain collection of programs to allow Unix systems
  20. to read, write, and manipulate files on an MSDOS filesystem (typically a
  21. diskette).

  23. The following MSDOS commands are emulated:

  25. Mtool         MSDOS
  26. name        equivalent    Description
  27. -----        ----        -----------
  28. mattrib        ATTRIB        change MSDOS file attribute flags
  29. mcd        CD        change MSDOS directory
  30. mcopy        COPY        copy MSDOS files to/from Unix
  31. mdel        DEL/ERASE    delete an MSDOS file
  32. mdir        DIR        display an MSDOS directory
  33. mformat        FORMAT        add MSDOS filesystem to a low-level format
  34. mlabel        LABEL        make an MSDOS volume label.
  35. mmd        MD/MKDIR    make an MSDOS subdirectory
  36. mrd        RD/RMDIR    remove an MSDOS subdirectory
  37. mread        COPY        low level read (copy) an MSDOS file to Unix
  38. mren        REN/RENAME    rename an existing MSDOS file
  39. mtype        TYPE        display contents of an MSDOS file
  40. mwrite        COPY        low level write (copy) a Unix file to MSDOS

  42. You should be able to just close your eyes and pretend you're on an MSDOS
  43. system.  Everything should work the same... except for the added 'm' at
  44. the beginning of each command.
