- :)(This is personal opinion / flame )
- :)Why would ANYONE want to do this???!!! HP has successfully chopped the
- :)neck off the DN5500, to the point that they're giving people half their
- :)money back! It is a machine with no future, no significant past, and
- :)nobody who wants to maintain its present.
-
- John you are right with respect to asking WHY anyone would want to do
- this, but realize that a year ago it was a feasible and good way to go.
- Shipment on the 700s could be as much as three months, the 425 upgrade
- path wasn't yet announced, and people were begging for performance on
- their DN machines NOW. I still have three or four 5500 motherboards
- that I haven't installed, but would like to. In six months to a year
- I'm going to see my stock of DN machines start to go down as our lease
- runs out and we bring on the 700 guns, but I would like my remaining DN
- machines to be 5500s as we will have to use the old tools from time to
- time.
