- Back in March, with the release of 10.4, I reported a problem with the X
- server. I am posting this to see if anybody else has seen this behaviour
- and possibly may have a fix.
-
- If I bring up X(R4) or HPVue after a reboot, it can take upwards of five
- minutes to process the .X* files and/or .vue files. It appears to be con-
- tained to only xterms and, more specifically, to the .Xdefaults xterm
- resource strings. To alleviate the problem, you must remove/rename the
- .Xdefaults and/or the .vue directory, reboot, and restore these files and
- directories. HP Support has escalated the call (This is JULY!!) and has
- reported that eight other sites have seen this behaviour as well.
-
- The configuration is 425t, 32mg mem, 2 scsi internals at 5 and 6 running
- DomainOS 10.4. (Not anymore...I put up HP-UX on it until they get this
- fixed. I hate to say this, but it is MUCH faster than Domain).
-
- Thanks for any help.
