- Our university has a class B address (147.26) and a domain
- (swt.edu), but does not have a master name server. Most of
- the Internet access from this university is via our VAX cluster
- (yuk) and we use another university to resolve name requests.
-
- I look after a group of apollo nodes, one of which is connected
- to the campus backbone ethernet. This has enabled us to avoid
- using the VAX :) We also use the remote name server to resolve
- names to addresses, but when we try to log into a site that
- expects us to have a name we get rejected.
-
- QUESTION: how do I configure the apollos to have recognizeable
- names?
- i.e. I would like to be able to connect to a site without being
- told that our IP address does not resolve to a name and
- then get rejected.
-
- Thanks in advance.
