  14. I have been offered a Quantum 105MB HD for a great price, and I am
  15. inclined to take the offer. At the moment I have a bog-standard
  16. 2.04 A1500. I was planning (in about three/four months) to buy a GVP
  17. 030 Combo Board, which has a SCSI controller built in. However, my
  18. resources don't stretch that far right now.

  20. My problem is, should I buy a cheap SCSI controller now, so I can use
  21. the HD immediately, then get rid of it in a few months when I can afford
  22. the GVP Combo unit, or should I buy the HD, hold out for a few months
  23. without using it and then just buy the GVP?

  25. Please help, as I don't know what to do. I shall provide the serial
  26. numbers of the HD to help all you gurus advise me what controller to
  27. get. It is a Quantum ProDrive, and the numbers alongside the two
  28. bar-codes (on the top) are:

  31. There are also numerous other numbers which I might as well throw in
  32. too:

  38. It has a 50-way (SCSI) cable & plug, and a four-way (power?) plug.
  39. Any ideas about controllers, or if anyone has one to sell, please
  40. mail me. BTW, the cheapest controller I can find in the UK is
  41. the 'Dataflyer', for about 60 pounds Sterling, thats about
  42. $90/100 (US). Is this good? Or is it a dud?
