- Okay, I'm about to give up on "GadToolsBox v1.3". I got this
- program hoping it would speed up the process of gadget placement in
- my custom windows, but this program just outputs unworkable code.
- :-( For one thing, it screws up with TAG_DONE by writing it
- TAGDONE in places without bothering to define a TAGDONE. It also
- (occasionally) refuses to open a window because the pointer to the
- (n+1)th gadget (of n gadges) is null. Grrrr!
-
- But perhaps the worst thing that this program has done so far is
- make me spend hours learning the inner workings of
- "gadtools.library" by examining the header files (!) because I
- can't figure out how to make the cycle gadgets visibly cycle in my
- custom windows.
-
- As you might imagine, my arms are tired from balancing RKM's in one
- hand while trying to type with the other.
-
- This is insane. I should be spending my time trying to figure out
- how I'm going to fit the database into machines short on RAM, not
- fighting with Gadgets and other GUI-crap. :-( Why can't people be
- happy with shells anyway? :-(
-
- What I would really like is some FTPable example C-source for
- playing with the gadgets supported in "gadtools.library". Has
- anybody written a friendly tutorial for using this library? I'm
- especially interested in different ways of handling the ListView
- gadget, especially if there's a way to make multiple-selections
- with one of them.
-
- THANKS IN ADVANCE!
