- Good point, and I commend CBM for the new ads, but here are some
- problems.
-
- 1) A large portion of the ads are going into Amiga magazines. This is
- not that great of an idea, since Amiga magazine readers often already
- know what the Amiga is and will be able to make purchases without CBM
- ads.
-
- 2) The ads are sparse for just about every other magazine. In one
- month and out the next. I would suggest ads every other months for
- a few months in magazines where the Amiga is unknown to readers.
-
- 3) Ads in educational mags should have an educational tone. Ads in
- video mags should have a video oriented tone. Same for IBM mags; they
- should stress multitasking, GUI, and 386 compatibility. CBM should
- make a 386 Amiga package, such as an A3000-25/50 with 386 bridgeboard
- and SVGA graphics.
-
- 4) CBM should concentrate ads in unknown markets or big business
- markets, such as video, education, and wholesale mags (which they
- seem to be doing now).
-
- 5) CBM should make a super UNIX package and offer it for testing by
- UNIX magazines. Likewise with video to video mags.
-
- 6) Sample CDTV units should go to audio magazines, educational
- magazines, and electronics magazines.
-
- 7) CBM should market an Amiga that meets the MPC standard with
- the SVGA, 386 Bridgeboard, cd-rom, etc.
-
- 8) A500 and A600 systems should be advertised in game magazines.
- Oh, also CDTV units. They ARE game machines. I started by playing
- mostly games and got to the point where the only games I play are
- now things like PD Risk and other PD games. Now I am into 3d stuff
- and programming. Nintendo and Genesis users need to be drawn into
- the computer market as much as possible while they are young.
