- Actually I have a better parallel yet...
-
- Consider instead that the Amiga is a sleak little european sports car.
- It's popular in Europe, and does sell small numbers in the US, but only
- to a handful of dedicated car collectors. The little Amiga sports car
- comes in two models, standard and deluxe, but is only available in red,
- and has only one interior option. The standard model comes with a small
- little 4 cyl. engine, compared to state of the art turbo charged 6 cyl.
- with DOHC and 24 valves which comes with the deluxe model. Otherwise both
- cars have similar suspension and handle pretty well around the corners.
-
- And in our story, the PC Clone is a big old early 70's muscle car.
- It comes in a wide variety of colors, has a wide variety of interior
- options, as well as a wide variety of engines. No two of these really
- looks alike, each has been customized with different interior's, paint
- jobs, engines. Some of them have flames painted along the side. Some
- of them have large 440 c.i. 8 cylinder super charged engines, others have
- somewhat mediocre slant-6's. Of course, the cornering is not great,
- being that the cars are somewhat bulky, and don't have the modern
- suspension systems.
-
- So the little sports car handles the corners better, but the muscle
- machine can make up for it in the straightaways.
-
- And don't forget, parts and easier and cheaper to come buy for the old
- 70's muscle car, than for the newer sports car.
-
- Well, it's not perfect, but it sure sounds a lot more interesting than
- the Yugo vs. Corvette, which seems a bit slanted.

-
- I'm not quite sure I caught that right. Don't you mean that in this country
- (US) a computer's degree of capability is proportional to it's popularity?
-
- I would attribute this to the fact that the more popular a computer is the
- more software and hardware options you'll have available, thus making it
- easier to do things with the computer == capability.
