  11. The 600 copies ide.device into ram at startup and renames scsi.device, 
  12. redirects flow to the new "scsi.device" I imagine this bit of jiggery 
  13. pokery was done for compatibility reasons. the renamed ide.device works 
  14. just like scsi.device as far as calls to it are concerned.
